NO “Truly Asia” for Berjaya Park Editor iKDN | 29 Julai 09 3:00pm
Dear Sir / Madam,
Why WE Malaysians don’t feel safe in our own country? I main and feasible factor is the influx of foreign workers (legal or illegal) from neighboring countries.
Take where I live for an example. When I moved-in in the early days (2001), residence at Berjaya Park, Shah Alam can be seen every evening, going for walks around the residential area, children running and playing at the roadsides, house gates are left open whilst the house owner are busy washing their cars, etc.
Make a trip to Berjaya Park today will show an 180· degree turn where only foreign workers are roaming the roads. No sight of children or residents having a stroll around the residential area. Residences are washing their cars in their porch with their gates shut. The residences of Berjaya Park have turn to become the “prisoner” of our own neighborhood!!
The majority are the residents have to put up with 15 foreign workers living next door in a rented house. Social illness, diseases, etc, brought-in and spreading by the foreign workers are inevitable. Are we aiming Malaysia as “Truly Asia” where visiting KLCC during any public holiday makes a local feel like they are in a foreign country?
Let’s look in a broader picture and reduce the numbers of foreign workers before it ran out of control which is proven that it is happening now.
